What is OraSure? OraSure testing is an innovative way to test for HIV without using needles or blood. Using the OraSure test is simple and painless. A trained collector will instruct you to place the OraSure® HIV-1 Collection Pad between your lower cheek and gum for 2 to 5 minutes. OraSure® is designed to detect HIV-1 antibodies, not the virus, from the tissues of the cheek and gum. When administered correctly, the test is over 99% accurate in detecting the HIV virus.
